About Lined Paper Ruling Styles

• College Ruled (~9.5 mm): The standard for high school and college students. Provides enough space for clear handwriting while fitting more text per page than wide ruled. Most standard composition notebooks use college ruling.
• Wide Ruled (~11 mm): More space between lines — ideal for younger students (grades 2–5) whose handwriting is larger, or adults who prefer larger writing. Common in elementary school workbooks.
• Narrow Ruled (~8 mm): Tighter spacing that fits more lines per page — popular with adults who write small and need maximum content per page.
• Handwriting / K-2 (dotted midline): Three-line handwriting paper used in kindergarten through grade 2. Each large space has a dashed midline to guide letter height — uppercase letters fill the full height, lowercase letters fill to the midline.
